From the Senator's Desk

This session is about Power to the People

When the Texas Legislature reconvenes for its 78th Regular Session, the people of Texas have a golden opportunity to strengthen their voice in the legislative process. Why? The issues expected to dominate our discussions are "people" issues—challenges that affect every Texan no matter their race, religion or socioeconomic status. Insurance premiums. Access to medical care. Property taxes. These are just a few of the items on our agenda, and the outcome will depend heavily on whether the average Texan tunes into the events taking place in Austin during our 140-day legislative session.
