Luncheon and Speaker: 12 p.m.

How can magazine cut-outs, glue sticks, word association games and watching people eat candy bars help you in your job as a professional communicator?
Plenty, says SMU Advertising Professor Dr. Alice Kendrick, who believes that everyone can benefit from knowing how to discover consumer insights.

Dr. Kendrick will discuss the advertising agency practice of account planning, which requires that the views of consumers or stakeholders be represented at every stage of the campaign planning process. She will focus on inexpensive, practical methods of gaining consumer input available to the professional communicator.

As a special feature, those in attendance will have the opportunity to submit research ideas for their company or client’s needs for Dr. Kendrick’s classes to tackle during spring semester. Make plans to attend with three to four research questions that your company would like answered. Application forms will be available at the luncheon for these limited and valuable research spots.
